Bearded dragon growth chart

Age Length Weight

2 months 5–9 in 8–40 g
3 months 8–11 in 22–50 g
4 months 9–12 in 40–60 g
6 months 11–18 in 80–230 g
8 months 14–20 in 110–350 g
10 months 17–22 in 230–450 g
12 months 18–24 in 280–510 g

Ranges are wide because genetics, sex and husbandry all affect growth. Males are usually larger.

FAQ

How can I tell my dragon’s age?

You can only estimate it. Under a year, length is a reasonable guide using the chart above; once a dragon reaches adult size, age can’t be judged from size.

My dragon is small for its age — should I worry?

Check basking temperature, UVB and how much it eats first. A dragon that’s small but active, eating and shedding normally is often just a smaller individual; a lethargic or bony one needs a vet.
